How to migrate an installation of Checkbox from one server to another

Important Note: These instructions assume that you are not moving the database to another server.
1. Copy your existing Checkbox installation directory and all its contents to the new server.
2. An activated license is only valid on the machine it was activated on. As a result you will need to download a clean copy of your license file from the customer area of our website (http://www.prezzatech.com/support/members).
3. Replace the web.config file in the new installation with a clean copy. You can obtain a clean copy of the web.config file from the Checkbox archive file. If you do not have the archive, you can download it from the customer area of our website (http://www.prezzatech.com/support/members).
4. You will need to re run the application set up in order to properly configure the installation for its new location. Follow the instructions detailed in InstallInstructions.htm. When you get to the part of the online setup which asks you to specify the database location, fill out the information and click Submit. You will see a warning indicating that the database is already set up at that location. Select the default option to continue to the next step without modifying the database.
5. When you get to the login screen, log in as an Administrator, and go to Settings, then click Application Settings. Review the image and email settings and make sure they are valid.
6. Activate the license.
7. You are now ready to run Checkbox on the new server.
