Default Wish List

The following suggestion (possibly apart from the last one) are small things that would make my life as a Checkbox Admin a lot easier. All of them would be pretty easy to implement:

Exporting Responses
- Make it so that you can say you want to export all 256+ columns before you hit export. It is silly having to do it twice esspecially when for some surveys it can take a couple of minutes before it asks you the 256 question. (Maybe just make it so Admin can make it the default and never ask). Latest version of Excel can do 256+ anyway.
- Make it so the administrator can make all export checkboxes selected by default for all users. All my users select all options 99% of the time. When they forget then they contact me asking what happened.

Hidden Items
- Make it so that you can export/imort hidden items to and from a library.
- Make it so you can export hidden items to and from xml.
The 2 above options would make it easier when you are passing many hidden items from prior pages. These often are identical but I have to enter them manually each time.

Page Layouts
- Make it so you can globally turn of page layouts. Creating custom CSS that works with all question type is hard enough without people applying page layouts too.

Finding Surveys
- Make it so you can search/filter for surveys using the Custom Survey Url

Statistics
- Make a page where you can get statistics about Checkbox. For example I have created a page where I can get a list of all the responses collected over the last week. It shows start/finish time, survey name, survey owner etc. We have many reserarchers doing many surveys and any given time, this allows me to get a feel for what is going on. The page allows me to filter the results, for example show me just this survey, or just this user, or this date range etc... I find this page invaluable in monitoring what is happening and is always my first port of call if somebody has a problem.

Default Restarting Server without killing responses

Another one that I forgot to add is some sort of mechanism to disable new people from starting surveys and to tell people logged in to log out.

It is virtually impossible to restart the server and be sure that nobody is half way through a survey. If you could disable new respondents and then wait 10 to 15 minutes for all people to finish that would be really useful. Better yet if the system could indicate whether there are currently any active respondents, say people who are still doing a survey and have had activity in the last 10 minutes.

This would allow you to:
- Disable system
- Be informed when all respondents have completed
- Then restart server

This would also be useful when doing an upgrade or any type of maintenance that will take the system offline.

We appreciate your feedback. I have created tracker items for each of your suggestions.

Post add to wish list

I wish that there is an interface for the raw data similiar to an excel interface where one can filter fields and see data base on the filter that is set. This is good for data analysis - most geared for research data.
