Default Example of Custom URL?

What does this mean? Before I go to the trouble of setting my IIS server settings, I would like to know what this means. The help does not explain it.

Did this exist in Ultimate Survey 3.0?

Thank you,
Bonnie

In Ultimate Survey it was only possible to use a survey's id to access the survey, either the database id or a unique GUID. In Checkbox you may now use "Custom" URL's.

An example w/out custom URL:
Code:
http://localhost/Checkbox/Survey?s==0ac42090a20244c0844ab3a06951178d
With Custom URL:
Code:
http://localhost/Checkbox/ExampleSurvey.survey
(the extension can be any extension that you want, .form, .test, etc.)

If you have any difficulties setting this up feel free to contact the Support team at Prezza Technologies.

In your example, is the "ExampleSurvey" the survey name?
Thanks,
Bonnie

Bonnie,

The actual name of the link is entirely configurable (i.e. it's up to the survey editor to enter whatever name they like) on the survey properties screen once custom urls have been enabled for the system. The link name does not have to have any relation to the actual survey name, though it may not have any characters other than letters or numbers in it.

The available extensions for the survey are specified in the web.config, and the installation documentation explains how to modify these settings and configure IIS to expect them.

Thank you for your reply. I have one more question: What happens if you use the same name/extension for two different surveys?
Thanks,
Bonnie

It shouldn't be possible for multiple surveys to have the same alternate url.
