Thumbs down export to SPSS; also printing open ended responses

Hi. This is my first post. I'm a statistician with 10+ years experience, using
mainly SAS.

I'm trying to use the Report Manager feature of Ultimate Survey Enterprise .NET v3.0.6 - Web Survey Software to export data to SPSS. I'm not really sure what should be happening, but I don't think it's working properly.

When I export a survey in SPSS model with ASCII encoding, should a .sav file be generated? Instead, I am asked to save a comma delimited export.csv file.

This export.csv file is problematic in several ways:
(1) the variable names (Q1, Q2, etc.) do not match the questionnaire.
(2) There are no open ended responses,
(3) responses to questions with continuous numeric answers are not included as columns in the .csv file,
(4) there is no CASEID variable that would allow me to merge this file with other data.

Can you explain how the export to SPSS feature is intended to work?

How can I get the continuous numeric variables merged on to the analytic file?

Is there a convenient way to print out the full text of the open ended responses?

thanks for any help!!
Peter
